Pia Louw
Travel Industry Director, Tenerife Tourism
In November 2007, Pia joined Tenerife Tourism Corporation, an independent body which markets Tenerife overseas as a tourist destination, as Director of International Promotion and Travel Industry. Within this role, she assumes worldwide responsibilities for the sales and marketing activities of the island from the corporation’s head office in Santa Cruz, Tenerife.
Prior to joining Tenerife Tourism Corporation, Pia served in a number of senior sales and marketing positions in the hotel industry. Pia began her career working in reservations and contracting for Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts in her native Denmark before she relocated to Tenerife in 1996. Here, she accepted a position with Hotel Jardin Tecina, a luxury brand of Fred Olsen, where she worked as Sales Executive for Scandinavia and UK & Ireland until 2000.
Since then, other roles have included Sales Manager for Hotel Botanico, a five-star member of Leading Hotels of the World; Sales Manager for Tropical Hotels, including Hotel Jardin Tropical and Abama Golf & Spa Resort; and Sales and Marketing Director for deluxe resort Villa Cortes. Before winning her current position, Pia worked as Destination Promoter for Puerto de la Cruz between the years of 2005 and 2007.
