Nathan Philpot
Managing Director
Elegant Resorts

Nathan Philpot, 38, was appointed Managing Director of Elegant Resorts, the leaders in luxury travel at the start of 2009. Previously he spent four years as a director of WEXAS, the private members travel club, where he worked alongside a number of specialist luxury tour operators. Prior to Wexas, he was at Kuoni for over 4 years, where he was responsible for marketing, trade sales and e-commerce and introduced their luxury brand ‘Kuoni World Class’. He spent the early part of his career in a number of marketing and commercial roles at Eurotunnel, Texaco and P&O.

Nathan’s travel passion is to visit the world’s most iconic sights. So far he has ticked off the Taj Mahal, Machu Picchu, the Grand Canyon, Table Mountain, Niagara Falls, the Twin Towers (and Ground Zero post 9/11), Rio’s Corcovado, both the Egyptian and Mayan Pyramids, the Burj Al Arab, The Golden Temple, Mount Fuji, the Petronas Towers and many more. He’s also managed to find time to relax on most of the world’s best beaches too.

He is a keen cricketer and when not in the office or at the wicket at the weekends, he can be found travelling as a cricket spectator (or player) more often than not in warmer climes during the UK’s gloomier winter months. To avoid hearing his stories of witnessing the fastest ball in history during the 2003 World Cup in Cape Town, England beating the West Indies at Barbados and a rather entertaining yarn about meeting ’Freddie’ Flintoff when playing in Sri Lanka, please do your best to avoid the hotel bars during any England cricket tours - you have been warned!
